Introduction
Dallas HuaYun Chinese Orchestra is a traditional Chinese music group founded in 2013 as a non-profit (501c3) organization in Plano, Texas. HuaYun Orchestra is committed to carrying forward the national art and promoting Sino-US cultural exchanges. Since its inception, HuaYun has developed into a band including Erhu (and its varieties Gaohu, Jinghu, Banhu, Zhonghu), Pipa, Guzheng, Ruan series, Bamboo flute, Sheng, Dulcimer, Liuqin, and other traditional Chinese instruments.
The orchestra has successfully held Annual Concert each year at UTD since 2014. HuaYun is aimed at Chinese traditional music education and promotion to help more and more Americans and overseas Chinese understand and enjoy listening to and playing Chinese music. By performing Chinese music it serves the community through many local events such as the Plano AsiaFest, city events of Frisco, Allen, Dallas, Richardson, Southlake, as well as CROW Chinese Spring Festival. It has been invited to perform at events for schools and companies, libraries and assisted livings facilities, and for charity.
